A Knight Errant's Journey begins...

"You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-nig-hts. "

Huzzah! I am off to the world open. I will be in the U1800 5 day section. I will be keeping track of a few of my Club mates as well. If there are any other Knights Errants attending... let me know and I will try to find you. I will blog on the road of my progress and other general silliness at this big event.

I plan on having fun and hope to score better than last year.

Later,

-BP

Good luck! God Speed!

And if that doesn't work, well, I won't talk about it publicly. But most importantly have fun.

Good luck George, keep your head down and focus on the board. I just won my section of the CCLA 1st webserver correspondence chess section (5.0/6.0, tied for 1st, won on tie-break):

My theme is generally to just get a halfway decent position in the early middlegame and hunt for tactics while trying to improve a position. My only 2 draws were when I got into a worse position in a Ruy Lopez variation I had no clue about (both as Black). I just hunkered down. There's always an opportunity...

Again, good luck!
